Regional water quality monitoring work meeting

The Tacis project "Caspian Water Quality Monitoring and Action Plan for Areas of Pollution concern (CaspianMAP)" has the pleasure to announce a regional water quality monitoring work meeting.

The work meeting will be held at April 20th and 21st in the Caspian Complex Environment Monitoring Administration in Baku. It will be devoted to two issues:

1. The results and analyses of the TACIS financed Caspian pollution surveys, executed by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in the autumn of 2008. During these surveys, both water and sediment samples were taken to determine status and trends in water quality. The samples were analyzed in laboratories in the littoral states.

2.The discussion of the Concept Regional Water Quality Monitoring Programme for the Caspian.

The forthcoming Regional Water Quality Monitoring Programme is part of the agenda of the Tehran Framework Convention for the protection of the marine environment of the Caspian Sea and adopted by the Caspian littoral states.
